About The Author:

Amy Nimmo is a Catholic School professional, therapy dog handler, author of Paws With a Purpose. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and spent years working for the Michigan Department of Social Services before finding her home in Catholic elementary education.

After nearly 13 years working at the school level, Amy launched a therapy dog program at St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Ocean Springs, Mississippi- building it from the ground up with her two rescue dogs, Maybel and Blanche.

What started as an idea became a program that transformed school culture, connected students to something bigger than themselves, and proved that sometimes the most powerful intervention walks on four legs.

Amy wrote this book because no resource like it existed when she needed it. Now it does.

Amy lives in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, with her husband and their six dogs, including Maybel and Blanche.
